Of our three homes, the Renovated Downtown Sebastopol Cottage is the one guests describe as feeling like they’ve lived there for years by the end of their stay — and honestly, that’s exactly the reaction we’re going for.
This is a 1000 square foot, single-story home tucked on one of Sebastopol’s most charming side streets, shaded by a massive live oak tree and just steps from everything downtown. Every part of it has been renovated with real thought — the kitchen and both bathrooms are fully updated, and the two bedrooms share a walk-in shower with private access from each room, so nobody’s fighting over bathroom time in the morning.
The little details are what make it work as a home base rather than just a place to sleep. The master bedroom opens straight onto the deck and outdoor dining area, so your morning coffee or evening glass of wine is genuinely two steps away — no shoes required. There’s a private patio, a small home workout room for anyone keeping up a routine on the road, and a lush garden on automated irrigation that stays green without anyone lifting a finger.
Location-wise, this is about as central as Sebastopol gets. You can walk to Portico Social for breakfast, wander Main Street’s shops in the afternoon, and be back in time to watch the sunset from the deck before heading out to The Barlow for dinner and drinks. The Joe Rodota Trail is a short walk away too, if a morning walk or bike ride is part of your routine.
We built this place — and furnished it — the way we’d want to stay ourselves: comfortable, quiet, close to everything, and just polished enough to feel like a treat without losing the character of an actual Sebastopol home. If you’d like to add a private chef to your stay through our yhangry partnership, we’re happy to help you plan it out.
