The Barlow is where a lot of a Sebastopol visit ends up happening, and for good reason. It’s an outdoor marketplace built on the site of an old apple-processing plant, now home to a dense cluster of breweries, wine tasting rooms, restaurants, and independent shops, all built around open-air walkways so you can wander between them without much of a plan. You could spend an entire afternoon and evening here without leaving — start with a tasting flight, browse the shops, grab dinner, and finish with a cocktail or live music, all within a five-minute walk. It’s also a genuinely good rainy-day option in winter, since much of it is under cover. Weekends bring the biggest crowds and best energy, especially in the evening; weekday afternoons are quieter and better for browsing without a wait. Parking is easy and free in the surrounding lots. If you only have time for one outing during your stay, this is the one that packs the most variety into the smallest area.
